Since this seems to be very popular..

Today's Assignment.. a video on making a video GIF, like tumblr!

Simple video, without voice, that simply takes a saved video, moves it into Photoshop CS5, and cuts it into the one section that they want to keep, to create the gif, maybe soon Ill post my own.

A website that puts it all out for the people that need to see it and follow the steps to do it, There's this instructional by Sam Biddle that shows you how. Seems fairly simple to do, very easy to follow along. Only thing you'll need is:

  • A video
  • Photoshop CS5 or CS6
  • good sense of humor

This site has some interesting multimedia stuff, but it varies more towards the professional recognition side as opposed to a tutorial-based site. It's called Cartoon Brew, and it features artists of the day, some of which create their art by computer and make gifs. Some different stuff, but really nice.

They focus on animation, like the new film The Croods, and the artists and developers behind it. They really showcase the developers, which doesn't happen often.

Above is work from artist Uno Moralez

Above is work from artist Neil Sanders

Above is work from sketch-based artist, Taylor Price

Above is work from artist Uli Meyer

This is all about looking into various forms of media..multimedia.. that incorporate various different techniques and styles, some even including GIFs that take the art to another level.

Inspired art.

     Today's Assignment..

Linking some of my classmates today for some links to other Multimedia blogs. Interested?

First off, my teacher Mr. Respin has his blog, MrRMultimedia. In it he puts all the gif related stuff well tackle on for the class. Here's an example of the cinematic stuff.. pretty cool, your basic tumblr-esque gif.

Another blog to check out is Marcella's blog, Marcella's IWA Multimedia Blog, similar to most of our Multimedia class. Its nicely organized and colorful, and has some helpful Photoshop information that could add a lot to an average photo.

A fun blog to try out is Shelby's blog, Shelby's IWA Multimedia Blog. She uploads a lot for her own gifs made in Photoshop, which are very cute. Very fun to look at.

Another blog to check out is Hannah's blog, Hannah's IWA Multimedia blog. She;s put up some of her own gif and has some really cool stuff to check out.

One of my favorites is Brandi's blog.. Brandi's Multimedia Blog. She took a lot to make it beautiful, and her gifs and everything are great. Especially her background.

Been searching for some interesting Multimedia Blogs, focusing on tough Photoshop skills to master..

This blog, Design Instruct, has a lot of interesting stuff to take on, like creating retro button simulations and textured web texts that offer a lot from the standard Times New Roman.. Seems like interesting stuff that could add a lot to a project in the office or throughout the home, my advice--click the link.

Next blog to try out is Spoon Graphics, which is more complex, but truly worth the time. It focuses on a lot of the indie images, and includes many examples and tools along with various articles and tutorials that really bring all the help that you need to light, all that is left is your own creativity.

Homemade Gif

Worked on creating a GIF of my name that sparkles, here it is.
